Founded in 1929, Cord was built on the innovative and different. The idea was that different would sell, though that didn't always prove to be the case. The company was one of the first to produce front-wheel drive cars, and included hidden headlamps on the Cord 810 and 812, unfortunately, innovations were overshadowed by reliability problems, and production of the Cord brand was stopped in 1937. About 10,000 (possible less) Cord cars were sold in their short history, though future car models did take some innovations from the original Cord cars. These cars are rare, and the odds are that you will only ever see one at a car show, or as a diecast model replica.
